So, what else is new?

It wasn't my fault. Saturday, Linda had TV on football so nothwithstanding solemn vows and good intentions, I couldn’t help watching some FSU, some Alabama, all Georgia/Tennessee, some Florida. Couldn't I have changed to a mickey mouse cartoon? no, Linda had the clicker. Couldn't I have left the room? absolutely not, why should I, I was here first. Tenn Vols should come up in rankings because of the scare they gave the Bulldogs, but they won’t because they lost, in overtime, after messing up at the end of regulation play. Giving up penalty first-and-goals with seconds to play is not good when you are ahead 31-24 against Georgia. What makes a great football game, when you win, or when the game is touch and go and the end is a heartthumper? Even though I am a Gator and whoever is playing Georgia is one of my favorite teams, this was even better than the TxA&M Tide game a few weeks ago, but why did the Vols go for a TD instead of field goal in OT?

Weekend highlight, class reunions. Friday evening reunion of Cove School class of 1949, sponsored by our class president Robert Padgett: good turnout and school tour. Lightning and incredibly torrential rain from TS Karen storm band closed down girls’ soccer practice on Williams Field and nearly drowned out the chef setting up to fry fish for us, but everything worked out. Saturday noon Bay High class of 1953 luncheon reunion chaired by superstars Joel Grace and Albert Rowell, a GTWHBA; liked this much better than the dance we had ten years ago.

Sunday School this morning, TS Karen down to TD Karen and no threat. A bit on likely Egyptian traces in the P Creation Story, then moving on to clarify The Flood with Noah and the Ark by separating out P and J and raising the specter of Gilgamesh. Don’t miss it!

So what else is new?

And what is old?
