Friday the Twentieth
Nice out here on 7H porch, 77° 90% and a smooth, flat Bay. Pale almost white sky beyond the clouds. Wind N 8 mph, which means it's calm on this south side of the building. There goes an osprey, rising from the water and struggling with a fish as he heads up and curves north over Oaks by the Bay Park next door. I don't know where the nest is.
Just checked the osprey nest at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Colorado and see two chicks instead of three. I've not looked in a while, so
scrolling the comments, apparently one chick fell off the nest a few days ago. Feathers and active, the two are growing fast. Reckon they'll be fledging in July. Then migrating in August or September, closing out another nesting season. Watching the osprey breeding and nesting cycle is like seeing life itself in a blur.

Busy morning ahead: we have an 11:30 appointment at the car registration office, then lunch across the street at Alice's on Bayview. I'm in a rut at Alice's, creating my own meal -> water, green beans and two side orders of fried oysters, ranch dressing. Back at 7H for the chocolate pudding dessert Linda made. Then the 2013 Volvo XC60 will fade into the distance.
On the wall in my study office den, I have a picture from the day Kristen picked it up at the Atlanta dealership Feb 2013, maybe I'll snap another today, with Charlotte taking custody!

Here's the second reading for Sunday, as we read through Galatians this summer,
Galatians 3:23-29
Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law until faith would be revealed. Therefore the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian, for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise.

From the second paragraph, we are to be all one in Christ, which could be a wakeup call that there is to be no longer red or blue, Brown, Black or White; we are all one as Americans, human beings, and Earthlings; but that spirit of unity will not happen in my lifetime or in this decade, when political victory and grasping power is not found in unity with ideas but in creating animosity, stirring hatred, emphasizing differences, demeaning and beating down the people on the other side.
Comes frequently to mind, Joe Welch asking Senator Joseph McCarthy, "Have you no sense of decency?"
Love thy neighbor is about how we treat people who are different from us: we no longer regard and treat others with common human decency.
Maybe news of an incoming earth-cracking meteorite would help us finally see what we were created to be?
Amen, come quickly, Lord.

White sky and hazy horizon. Two watercraft moving on the Bay.
We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life ...
