79° clear, 84% wind N 5 MPH, a pleasant summer morning, and some traffic moving in downtown StAndrews. The mug of black is the right way to start Friday the Third. 'ven't reached for a morsel of dark yet, but have scanned the news. Wearing a facemask is a political sign? Seriously? Seriously, I cannot believe humans can be so profoundly stupid as to think wearing a facemask is a political statement.
But no, we are American. Americans: I can believe it actually!
As Harry Golden brought it from the Jewish culture of New York's Lower East Side, "Only In America".
Or as was said on the playground of Cove School in the 1940s,

We're pretty much not going out anyway.
The best news for intelligent content and coverage is CSM, but they have to pay the bills, so require a paid subscription, which I'm not going to do. I make myself content to read just headlines and opening sentences, but this piece intrigues me regarding what the rest of the world is doing and will do now that we have withdrawn not only in fact but our credibility as international leader and standard setter:
