Saturday, Easter Six Eve

No matter what seems, +Time was and is never a food blog. But my dietary preferences appall Linda enough that I think they may get the attention of other folks from Time to Time, so ...

This is my Saturday breakfast after my walk in Oaks by the Bay Park just beyond the side gate of our garden here at HV. My thought at first was cheddar cheese and strawberry jam that I bought at World Market yesterday, but when I opened the fridge for the cheese, there was the remainder of a jar of sardines that a friend gifted me recently; the imagination sparked, saliva flowed, and off we went. A flour tortilla topped with mustard and cheddar cheese, toasted, then loaded with sardines, and folded over into a roll. Extra sardines on the side. With the mug of ice water it was excellent. I can feel a PPHT drop and nap coming on,

but after the nap, a mug of hot & black and a slice of whole wheat toast topped with cheese and strawberry jam sounds superb for a lazy, warm and muggy Saturday morning of the long Memorial Day Weekend holiday.

Enjoy your holiday weekend. Yesterday morning we drove out to PCB to witness and support a young parishioner being honored with awards at his middle school graduation, and we saw the beginnings of summer holiday weekend traffic at PCB: we don't expect to drive Across The Bridge again until after Labor Day.

But we did have a nice stop at Fresh Market where we bought lunch, a rollup for Linda and sushi for me, along with other things, including a bunch of collard greens, and several of my favorite cheeses at their cheese counter, which is nearly always incredible for our area.

Leaving Fresh Market (this is all at Pier Park) we rolled down the road to World Market, where we bought a bit of chocolate, and I bought sardines, anchovies, and the strawberry jam - - which I opened this morning and had two spoonful to enforce my for the morning walk. Quite good jam, actually, close to preserves instead of jam.

A full night's sleep, nine pm to six am after yesterday's very tiring adventure, with long walking, into and out from the school gym, stroll Fresh Market vigorously for an hour (we had our lunch at a table in their front eating area), another hour strolling World Market.

World Market: they have interesting things, though by the Time I got round to the wine selection in the far back corner of the store I was too exhausted to bother. I did buy a couple of the large plastic bowls of Japanese noodles, one curry for me, one mystery for Linda.

The sore neck and shoulders have arrived, Time for the nap. Tomorrow maybe a quick examination of one of the Proper readings for the 6th Sunday of Easter, Year C. Till then, eh?!
