moonlight, moon bright

Just before going to bed last night, 10:34 pm it was, I went out on 7H porch and snapped a picture of the moon, 66% as I recall, waxing gibbous, decent shot as the red light flashed on the tower in the Bay Point area the other side of Courtney Point between 7H and the Pass; and posted it on Facebook.

About the same picture as above.

Tuesday POD. City inspector is due here sometime this morning to inspect electrical work that Peaden's permitted here during our recent kitchen renovation. I'm no electrician, but we think the Peaden workers did fantastic with our electric as well as with our plumbing.

Magic mug of hot & black Club coffee this Tuesday, 2 September 2025 as, 14 September 1935, I anticipate my 90th birthday and heading on for 91. This is my birthday month. What am I thinking? As most will suspect, besides visits with friends and loved ones, I'm thinking what food I will want to be sure and enjoy. I want a steak that someone else cooks, I'm thinking of a rare porterhouse steak at a local steakhouse. Naturally, I want some oysters, which I'm thinking about taking a handful of greenbacks to Gene's Oyster Bar (they only take cash) for raw oysters, fried mullet, fried oysters, and a fried soft-shell crab one day this month. May hit Captain's Table about mid month. Last Saturday was it? Or was it Friday? I think it was Friday after the three of us left Pruitt, we went to Hunt's and I had the whole red snapper, fried perfectly, not fried dried out but beautifully moist and tender from head to crispy fried tail. I'd have gotten a picture, but had left my phone in the car.

What else is on my mind? Well, "kata Markon" the gospel according to Mark, my favorite Bible book, in which my reading and discussion sessions begin at HNEC this coming Sunday morning. I won't be "teaching" but I will be leading the class sessions using the Bible study method that I learned in theological seminary all those years ago. Why do I keep mentioning this? IDK, maybe to keep myself from forgetting at this extreme old age. Maybe because it's on my mind. Maybe because it's a favorite subject, IDK.

Going to Sam's after the city inspector comes and leaves, to pick up my prescription for amoxycillin that I have to take before dental appointments. May check out the sushi while there, eh?

The national political environment. The idea was to round up and deport illegal immigrant criminals. A child, an American citizen, frightened s-less when arrested by ICE outside his school then released because it was a mistake? A war veteran arrested for criticizing ICE? IDK, America.
