Distribution to the Harbour Village list was in my inbox this morning, along with a picture, and while she was out yesterday Linda saw the truck: the first shipment of sliders has arrived. Every condo unit has sliding glass doors opening onto the porches, which are on the Bay side of the condominium complex. The doors were substantial already,  but storm-related failures brought about replacement of every door. Instead of the original regular height, the new doors take in the glass transom above the doors so that they are about 8 feet tall, and with more solid construction and installation that meets current building codes.

Everything that is being done to HV is making it better than ever, and though if we could go back to last October and vote, we'd never elect to suffer Category 5 Hurricane Michael, we are grateful that reconstruction and recovery are so well planned and executed here. Not only beautiful, HV is a good place to live, with pleasant neighbors and highly competent leadership and management. We are so fortunate to be here at this age instead of trying to cope with the The Old Place.

This morning Linda found out about the death this week of a friend from childhood, highschool, college and later, couple with whom we often triple-dated junior and senior years in high school and into the first two years of college. She was in our wedding more than 62 years ago. With the passage of Time and declining health, these things are not always a complete surprise, but are always startling, stunning, bring about a full stop to contemplate What Once Was and what Time has been for us and done to us. Blessings and Peace.
