Gina rolled her RV
Thursday morning, with family news
About noon yesterday my nephew John Carroll Thompson phoned me to report that his mother, my sister Gina Weller Webb, had rolled her RV, was injured and being taken to Bay Medical Center ER. Gina was driving on Route 20, on her way to visit our brother Walt in Pensacola. We don’t know what happened, but apparently she over-corrected at some point and the vehicle rolled off the road, rolling several times as it disintegrated.
This picture was taken from the scene by a family member:
We went to the ER and spent the afternoon there with John Carroll and Andrea, until Andrea went to go check the scene of the crash to see what might be salvaged of Gina’s things. I mean, the motor home was her home/house. Andrea then went on to Pensacola, as noted below.
Gina suffered multiple injuries, including some apparently slight bleeding in her brain, severe lung damage (not sure whether bruising or bleeding), spine injuries at the neck, torn flesh down to the bone in her left arm, puncture wounds at the top of her right knee, many broken ribs, several of them broken more than once. Her blood pressure was low but stable.
Although in much pain, and especially pain with breathing that she told us, she was conscious and we talked with her, and she wanted us to hold her hands, during the time she was in the trauma room. We watched as the doctor asked her to wiggle her toes, which she did, the doctor said a good sign neurologically.
The MRI machine at Bay was not operating, nor apparently Sacred Heart’s MRI anywhere around here in Bay County, so the medics decided to send her to Sacred Heart, Pensacola. A helicopter was brought in for the transport, and expected to leave in “about ten minutes” but with prep for the transport, the intubation etc, and a need for a procedure through her side before transport, her condition became unstable, and required about an hour of what to us appeared to be frantic work with medics rushing in and out, and wheeling heavy machines in and out of her trauma center room.
Finally the doctor came out and told us she was stabilized and ready to go. We waited and watched as, sedated, she was wheeled out by the helicopter team, then we came home. John Carroll drove on over, and family in Pensacola are involved. Linda and I are standing by at home. Whether we go to Pensacola remains to be seen.
Text messages before midnight from Andrea and John Carroll at Sacred Heart Pensacola reported that the doctors there have her in a medically induced coma.
Kindly, prayers and loving thoughts. I am well and appreciate if no phone calls to me, please, text messages and/or emails fine. (Reminder! Not Facebook Messenger, as it's closed off because of so often being hacked and I don't open it).

Just received text message from John Carroll
Cardiology currently Doing endoscopic ultrasound look at heart and valve. To determine if valve issue is chronic or trauma. Chronic is unfixable. Trauma might be fixable if she wears from vent but is extremely high risk. We should know more later today.
