eat it cold

"What is Truth?" On an Earth where in our self-importance we can't remember that we are specks on a speck and our primary sense toward Others (i.e., Neighbor, Samaritan) is hatred, hostility, violence, my personal sense is of having lived into the Twilight Zone. Governments actually speaking of preparing for nuclear war, are we crazy? yes, we are, it's not arguable.

And what's the problem? It's Certainty, religion, religious Certainty, tribal Certainty. We are insane. The Inquisition. The Crusades. Christian Anti-semitism. Radical Islam against all others. How have Earthlings come to this point? In Earth Time, it's been developing for eons and here we are.

Go online and read the news source JOE with its startling presentations of True Facts. There are True Facts and False Facts and preposterous exaggerations.

Government: lies, delusions and self-delusions perceived and told as True Fact, and sycophants afraid for their jobs of offering difference. If you haven't yet, watch the film Downfall (German, Der Untergang) and maybe you'll get it. Or read Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty Four" and Koestler's "Darkness At Noon" or even better Orwell's "Animal Farm" for the absurdities of floating truth. Truth is Four Legs good, Two Legs bad until the swine that have taken over learn to walk upright, when Truth becomes Four Legs good, Two Legs better.

This is not a political weblog but an observation post from National Lampoon's Animal House, and I really miss John Belushi.

As part of the illusion, my Lobster Roll for breakfast, lobster roll and black coffee. Not Connecticut style, but real Maine style Lobster Rolls: cold lobster with mayonnaise on a warm bun - - pretty tasty actually; and in an act of sheer defiance I shook real salt on it instead of my fox salt, NoSalt, which is potassium instead of salt to keep my blood pressure down and to replace the potassium my body sheds when I take furosemide.

And I'm as easy as everyone else to fool with a lie: behind the scenes in the darkness it's actually Fox Lobster: at Sam's Club I bought a package of what is processed to resemble crab legs, which are surimi, fox crab. Surimi is Alaskan Pollock, processed and rolled out into thin sheets, which then are rolled up and pressed into whatever shape it's to be marketed as (here fox crab legs), and colored red like cooked crab legs or cooked lobster. I eat it cold in my lobster rolls where it's still Real Lobster; if I heat it up to make Connecticut style lobster rolls it starts coming unrolled into what it truly is, which, unappetizing, reminds me of a Starship Enterprise episode decades ago in which something happened that caused crew members to regress to their origins, and Mr Spock was reported as "reverting to a giant arachnid" my idea of beyond horror.

Lobster Roll, and the lobster coming unrolled, reverting to thin layers of surimi. So, don't heat it, eat it cold, where, when and while it's lobster if that's what you want for breakfast.

fox lobster: the Earth as we have remade it.

Our war on Iran. Why? FROM for regime change so the Iranian people can rise up and overthrow (an illusion) TO for eliminating a developing nuclear threat TO for pre-emption as Iran was planning imminent strikes against us TO because Israel was about to attack Iran and we didn't want to get caught up short being targeted by surprise; floating Truth. How long? FROM hours TO a couple of days TO a week or so TO a month, TO it may take more months than originally planned as it predictably spreads out of anyone's control.

Pontius Pilate: "What is Truth?" We live in a post-truth twilight zone where Truth is whatever authority decides Truth is and decides the people need to be told at the moment, and Facts are floating like the continents in C S Lewis' novel "Prelandra"

Last Thursday afternoon we had a marvelous, dream of a day touring the new STREAM building at HNES, and I started a blogpost about it on Friday, which was delayed by Friday's events as they developed; then the resumption of blogging on Saturday collapsed into despair that is more resignation to impotent futility than actual despair: war on Iran that bursts into the open.

War with each other even though we are here:

We and our hatreds are not as important as we imagine.

RSF&PTL anyway
