just watching

So, maybe a journal entry instead of a Facebook post. What do we know-nothing ants, or fleas, need to say? Nothing: everything has been said, and is being said, and will be said that needs to be said and that isn't worth saying. War again, and stirs my memory when I was twenty-seven years old, of hearing my professor of American government say that the role of the congressional minority in warTime is to criticize and second-guess the administration. So, I expect that and sure enough there's nothing else the minority can do. In fact, with an authoritarian executive branch there's nothing the legislative can do anyway except go along or get ignored.

I don't need to add to the screaming and shouting. But from me, for self-expression, maybe that people don't learn much or take much from history or experience - - what would the present be like if someone had killed Adolf Hitler in the nineteen-thirties or earlier or later? I have heard Germans who were there say Hitler did good things for Germany, a view that blows my mind, but obviously it depends on one's point of view. Did Khameini do good things for Iran, or should yesterday's actions have taken place years ago? Judging by the screaming and shouting on both sides, obviously it depends on one's point of view.

My point of view is that all government is always, all ways, all bad; and strongly against authoritarian government. Always mixed bully and bravado, people only take on destroying evil that is weaker though, eh? otherwise Putin would have been gone ages ago.

Thoughts just wandering here and there.

A Time press opportunity came up and the attack was suddenly moved up to GO NOW; otherwise, a thoroughly well coordinated and executed massive operation would have destroyed the Iranian government's ability to respond launching missiles, which this morning they are still doing.

An observation, not a statement of my point of view which is still stupefaction in this early predawn darkness. We've lived into a fast changing world and it isn't done yet, nor will it ever be. Maybe I'll leave it at that.
