Early Birds and Generals

Early Birds and Generals

Another four-star this morning. Last week Dave and Paula, today John and Jill.

Enjoy the romantic pre-dawn tweeting of the songbirds. It is common or uncommon knowledge that birds fool around. According to researchers, in the wee hours of the morning when early birds are out supposedly getting the worm, they are actually engaging in trysts. Genetic tests of eggs and baby birds in nests show that of, perhaps, four eggs or hatchlings, two may be the offspring of the once thought to be monogamous pair; the other two are not unlikely to be from other matings. Even if birds mate for life, they like to mix it up. They’re discrete and secretive about it, but it’s their nature.

The government expects Generals and Secret Service agents to be different? At least the birds respect and honor one another's privacy.

The good news is that doing investigations and reading salacious emails gives scandalized members of Congress the opportunity to earn their paychecks. And to cast the first stone. Not concern with national security, but the shameless invasion of privacy by the selfrighteous.

Early Birds and Generals under investigation.
