What Are You Doing Here, Tom?

Because the most overused word in the English language is “very” I seldom use it. Very seldom. Otherwise it would tell how helpful and good my first two silent directed retreats were and are and should yet prove to be, which is to say very.

Very helpful because of fulfilling my hopes for self-perception and personal discernment.

Very good because in both cases there was freedom, lovely freedom: time with no television, only the Sound of Sheer Silence.

The Still Small Voice whom Elijah heard still speaks.

My hope and expectation is that each retreat will build on the prior, and that the last one, a month away, will cap it.

What are you doing here, Tom?

Trying to survive +Time, Hashem, till you call the game.
