2020

Everybody wants to comment, including so do I, on everything.

The BLM protests either are no longer news or are, predictably, winding down and the pressure easing so little or nothing will happen. What needs to happen? Mandatory education and training permeating society, from kindergarten to corporate, institutional, religious throughout life, to advance consciousness of racism, especially incipient racism. Total intolerance, even to draconian measures, of racism such as the police brutality that brought on the 2020 spring summer protests. There will always be racism and racists, but the harm done to individuals and society can be managed out of officialdom by dedicated employment screening and ongoing monitoring and strictest discipline. Beginning in areas such as police work where culturally the problem is especially likely to manifest.

Covid19 mindfulness and conscientiousness are slacking off as we adjust to the idea of it as "Usual", tire of all the precautions, let down our guard. To ease back to What Was in the face of ongoing virus is foolish, will expose more people and cost lives. Although folks see less of us, Linda and I this week looked at our own growing carelessness and resolved to be more mindful, working the forethought "Is it worth dying for?"

Affronted defensiveness in conjunction with blatant but blind to self incompetence is discouraging. As in the proverb

He Who Knows Not
and Knows Not He Knows Not,
He is a Fool: Shun Him.

Not surprising but how informative and appalling it can be to find out what fools people are.
