TGiving

No, it's not the BEST part of Thanksgiving, the best part is when all these people I love so much are here. A turkey sandwich is certainly an integral part of the festivity though. We had our Thanksgiving Day last Saturday and are finishing the leftovers, this morning my sandwich. Bits of turkey breast meat and shredded strips from that frequently discarded or tossed into the turkey soup two-parallel-bone midsection of the wing that has the dark meat. So, whole wheat bread, mayonnaise, and the turkey. A worthy repast.

We had a great adventure Tuesday, Kristen drove, much appreciated. Because that new restaurant out by Scipio Creek Marina was closed for the week, we ate at our standby, The Station, then parked down at Riverfront Park and I stayed in the car and worked while Kris and Linda walked around town shopping.

Before leaving town we stopped in Apalachicola Chocolate Company for ice cream: their ice cream is good, a favorite is coconut, which they don't always have, so mine was a scoop of tupelo honey ice cream, they call it gelato, maybe so, IDK, but it's good. At $3.95 for one scoop it damn well ought to be. They do well, the store was crowded and downtown was jammed with people. One of Linda's friends from The Old Time who runs one of the boutique shops there told Linda this is her best sales week of the year.

Driving through both going and returning, we saw that the highway work at the Tyndall AFB main gate is progressing. Seems slow, but maybe pretty normal, because seems I read that there's to be a "flyover" to solve the usual traffic congestion at that intersection. Flyover, maybe an English term? They have a flyover in Tallahassee at the congested area north where I-10 meets Thomasville Road, and we have the new flyover where 98 converges with 23rd Street, Hathaway Bridge, the port terminal and the GCCC/FSU college complex, an incredible improvement.

Thanksgiving Day again today, Kristen and Malinda are coming for surf & barnyard dinner of turkey breast, panfried grouper, lobster tails. While they and Linda are fixing dinner this morning, I'm going to the Thanksgiving Day service at First Church of Christ, Scientist. Doug's invitation, he's a regular member of our adult Sunday School class at Holy Nativity, and invited the class to the service at his church.

Picture: sunrise sky at 5:44 this morning. That cloud has dissipated and it seems we are to have a pleasant day with a high of 70F.

All things bright and beautiful and Life is Good.
