90% chance of rain

Bad weather leaves us traumatized, how bad and how long depends on how severe it was: it's fading, but we're still traumatized from Category 5 Hurricane Michael over five years ago; this week's tornadic weather and local damage has us traumatized about what's coming later today, and our tv weather team stirred that up more,

but this morning's Weather Radar makes it look insignificant for PC and Tallahassee, though threatening for Joe in Louisville, KY.

Did you ever notice that Louisville is almost directly north of Panama City?

No? Well, you would have noticed if your son lived there.

What's bothering my little mind?

> that the Russian president knows damn well that Americans are so obsessed with current events that we quickly grow bored with whatever HAS happened, and all he had to do was wait us out on Ukraine; which is what is happening, and Ukraine will soon collapse and return to Russian domination, UkrainianSSR style.

> that the war for Ukraine was fought with hands tied: war is to win, it is impossible to win a war against a foe who has limitless resources by fighting defensively on one's own territory; war has to go offensively against the enemy's resources, which would have meant taking it heavily into Russia; and the greater risk of all out war; and no nuclear nation is going to hold back if their territory is seriously threatened. The Russia/Ukraine outcome is inevitable, and we don't really care, because all it cost us was a bunch of weapons from our armory, no American blood. At stake from beginning to shameful end are deep moral issues going both ways, and, yes, it's bothering me. All this could have been so different.

> that, with our necessary military action in the Red Sea, the Israel/Gaza war is inexorably widening toward global conflict, as Iran and Iran's satellites wish. The American people could have been friends with the Persian people, but for the fact that all government is always, all ways, all bad. Government is evil, especially government that is founded in religious certainty, certitude.

> that discoveries and revelations in Gaza tunnels prove that Israel has no survival choice except their total war on Hamas while the rest of the world self-righteously screams "genocide". The situation is beyond horrendous and will leave hatreds for generations to come. This also could have been avoided.

> that relative peace in the northern hemisphere was bought after WW2 with faulty political decisions for instant relief that predestined the then-future for where we are now.

> that all government is always, all ways, all bad, and that people who elect governments are in no way in the image of God.

Friday soapbox, with apologies.

Tomorrow is Kristen's birthday. I was 57 when she was born, and she turns 31 tomorrow, so I must be 88. We're celebrating her birthday with her today, and with her at her mom's tomorrow.

Yesterday's visit to the Eye Center went well and encouragingly.

Room here in 7H is crowded up with furniture and plants moved inside from the porches because of this week's threatening weather, but we are living with it, carefully climbing around it, at least for the moment.

Although the scene of my facial surgery is scarier than ever, it's coming along nicely. I intend to be in church Sunday, but sitting in the pew with Linda. I'd stay home Sunday and watch online except for the farewell feast for Madge, and I'm looking forward to sampling the cornbread. I may take my own butter to make sure.

A FuroForty morning, which already is aching my kidneys.

Jiminy Jeepers, Uncle Bubba, get a life for chrissakes.
