geoglyphs

ZAP, a lightning strike right outside my window a moment ago, just off 7H porch, so close I'm not sure whether it hit the water or the thin strip of beach between the HV building and the shoreline. Flash and boom simultaneous. Before 2018 when Joseph was struck I enjoyed electrical storms, beauty and awe; anymore, lightning is one of Father Nature's most deadly weapons and Zeus is crouching ready to strike; don't tempt fate or press luck.

Sad, a Cessna crashed in dense woods near ECP and the two people in the plane are dead, apparently just located in a search this morning.

New Florida "Don't Say Gay" law, mass protests. I've not read the law or summary or synopsis so don't know enough to have an intelligent opinion, and all the news coverage seems biased one way or the other. I don't know about sexuality issues as a subject among little children, which I suspect is what is guiding the Republicans who came up with this. I do wonder why they felt the law was necessary: was, is, has there been a problem? What I do NOT trust is legislators deciding smugly, piously, certitudinously what cannot be taught in schools. Legislators are bigoted flat-earth fools for the most part, elected by their ignoramus peer bigots, and my uninformed reckon is that every one who voted for this law is a self-righteous homophobe. But IDK.

What I do know is that when government starts making people's decisions for them, the onus of immorality is not on the self-certain who pass the laws - - who are simply exercising their right in a democracy to bully the minority who disagree - - it's on those who, for whatever reason, generally financial, fail to speak out against bigots and bullies.

At last, the president has moved to ban Russian oil. Spiking oil prices will be our participation in fighting Putin, clarifying himself as our enemy, and rocketing oil price is a lot cheaper than nuclear war, which before Russian war of aggression and conquest is over, will be a more obvious alternative and possibility than it has been so far.

What? geoglyphs, earth carvings and clever, artistic arrangements of stones, who did that? It's a mystery so far, but some talented civilization preoccupied with the human male anatomy, who enjoyed viewing their art from on high.
