ten days 'til Xmas
Productively engaged this early morning hour, clipping fingernails while watching videos of large buildings being demolished, sipping hot & black, and enjoying a few bites of raspberry Kringle.
We came across the Kringle while emptying the freezer last week when the Whirlpool refrigerator failed.
Already the Kringle is putting me to sleep, common among the elderly, postprandial hypotension. It just happens. Peaceful, it lasts fifteen or twenty minutes or so, appears as a very heavy head in a blood pressure drop that comes on suddenly, a pleasant invitation to lie down and take a nap. Not a long nap this morning, Linda decides, and I think we're going to the 10:30 service at HNEC this morning.
The new LG refrigerator is hardly noticeable as a change in the kitchen, same general appearance. We have thermometers in there, which after cooling all night long should show the preset 37°F in the refrigerator and 0°F in the freezer section. It was delivered earlier than expected yesterday morning, about eight-thirty, up and running by nine o'clock, so should produce ice by midmorning tomorrow - - the instruction book says forty-eight hours for ice. Are we pleased with it? Well, it isn't a Christmas tree that brings a happy spirit to 7H, is it, it's a refrigerator, isn't it. I'm pleased with the lamp on my table here because it produces light, I'll be pleased with a refrigerator that works as intended.
Maybe I'll draw off a glass of water and see if it's cold, eh?
Am I a happy person? I'm a happy person. What makes me happy? Signs of the Season. Keeping the Xpistos in Xmas.
Boy, a lot of books were abandoned when vacating my office space at the Church. What to do about that and with them? Well, I've already done it, haven't I: brought to 7H what I couldn't ID myself without, and abandoned the remainder. Books, along with a few little car models and other toys of the trade. And my collection of priest stoles in the clergy vesting room, along with a couple of chasubles. Have at it!
We enjoyed the boat parade last evening, an annual PC Xmas event that passes right by us on the Bay in front of 7H. I did not get any good pictures, but here's one that needs straightening:
It's Sunday: "Welcome, happy morning!" age to age shall say. Season's Greetings, Happy Holidays,
