The noes have it

Linda says “No” but I was almost sure the Tuesday morning Bible Seminar would enjoy a session on what I’ve been studying this morning, which is the 1941 Cadillac and how it evolved from the 1939 and ’40 models, and the 1942 that followed it. We could compare GM’s other C-body cars for those years, but focusing on Cadillac, and maybe bringing in the end of LaSalle. I’d discuss when GM Hydramatic was introduced (1939 for the 1940 Oldsmobile so as to protect Cadillac’s reputation in case the new product was a failure), and its introduction to Cadillac (1941 model year), and when an automatic came to Buick (Dynaflow not until 1948 and then only the Roadmaster). We'd present all the Cadillac models for the year range maybe 1938 to 1941, the Series 61 and 60 Special, introduction of Series 62. And the elegant offering of sedans for 1941, our study focus year: Series 61, 62, 63, 67 and 75, dimensions, engine, price range, brochures, upholstery selections, magazine ads, state of the recovering economy, and many other intriguing facts and features.

I’d also show the product similarities across the full range of GM cars, stretching to the 1942 model line when from down the block the 1941 two door Cadillac 61 and 1942 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan were virtually indistinguishable

even to a sharp eye. I’d teach the styling differences in the Series 61, 62 and 63 sedans, and how to tell whether a limousine is a Series 67 or 75. As well as being fascinating on its own, people would be better prepared for the questions St. Peter is likely to ask in his examination at the Pearly Gates.

It seems like a wonderful relief from what I plan for next Tuesday, which is Luke chapter 3, the baptism of Jesus and Luke tracing the ancestry of Jesus back to Adam, in comparison with Matthew only going back to Abraham. Moving on to Luke 4, Jesus in the wilderness with the devil and starting his ministry. All who’d rather study Cadillacs than Luke, say “Aye.” Opposed, “No.” Linda says “No.”

Out here on my 7th heaven porch, it’s raining hard enough that Davis Point and Shell Island are whited out.

Whoever misses Lessons and Carols at Holy Nativity tonight is insane. Supper at 5:30, Lessons & Carols at 6:00, dessert afterward.

Every day is a beautiful day.
