born and bred

Saturday, 2019 December 1, our six month hurricane season is over and we begin six months of no worries provided Father Nature minds his manners and his boundaries.

But up there, that there's our'n weather for today. To my mind rather rude, and more of it tomorrow, though said to be 74° by one o'clock this afternoon, so I'll take it.

Visit to 7H yesterday. A dehumidifier was humming. While we were there, the contractor superintendent and a worker came by checking security. They told us they are finished tearing out drywall, ceilings and floors, they have about a week to go, then the next step is the next contractor arrives to install the new roof; then the next contractor can begin installing drywall and the HVAC contractor the new HVAC systems in all condo units. We'll get an update at the next HOA meeting next Friday, December 7, but my guesstimate in the meantime is 7H being ready for paint, new flooring, &C by sometime Spring 2019. Is it inconvenient? By all means; but some people's homes were totally wiped out, doubtless many who had no insurance; many lost means of livelihood because their place of employment was destroyed, and some of those folks have had to move away; and too many people went to bed at home Tuesday evening trusting Michael to be a category 1 or 2 hurricane, only to wake up Wednesday morning to a category 5 coming ashore, and some lost their lives. So am I inconvenienced? Yes, and still in agony as I drive around town where everything about life is changed and we can't get it back forever, at least, not in our forever, me and my classmates and contemporaries.

So and always despair begins to stir and with it the thought to escape; but comes to mind John 6:60 paraphrased, "StAndrewsBay, where would I go? You have the words of eternal life." Me and Brer Rabbit, born and bred in the briar patch.

When will this anger begin to dissipate? Well, tomorrow's Sunday, I can stuff it back into the closet on the Lord's Day! Then maybe on Wednesdays, then ...
