Friday

Ostriches, I've been reading about their diet, what the ostrich and the emu eat. Why? IDK, a television ad had an ostrich in it, running across a pasture, and the man watching him from a car said "He'll be back." So, the thought occurred that the animal might return because he was hungry, but maybe also he would forage for food while roaming the pasture, and what do they eat? Have you eaten ostrich? I have, told here several times: Joe & Patty were expecting me to order ostrich, so I did. The waiter asked, "How do you want it cooked?" I said, "Well done." The waiter suggested more or less, "Sir, the chef likes to cook it rare, so why don't you order it rare? That way you'll get it the way you ordered it." ooookaaayyy!!! Dark meat, looks, tastes and chews like beef, not like overgrown chicken.

Excitement for the day? Haircut. Early in the Navy a weekly haircut was called for, now in late life it has eased off to a haircut every fourth Friday at 1:00 pm.

Cloud cover, but a clear day, can see the white beach of Shell "Island" and over into the Gulf of Mexico. What a place to live! Weather, 53° 87% 100% chance of rain. Had a short video from Joe last evening, he was walking his street in Louisville, I could hear his footsteps crunching in the - - what he said was not snow, but sleet over ice. Jeepers. 26° there right now, going to 13° tonight, a few flurries or snow showers possible. Me? I'm good right here.

Sunday school class handout tomorrow. All our Bible readings give us reason to talk about call stories.
