Heaven is sleeping nights when the porch door is open and a back window, breeze drifting through cool and salty all night long. Wee-hours thunderstorm like Monday night makes perfect. Last night was chilly, delightful.
Middle and late January as Ordinary Time came to a close and went into Stoppage Time and it appeared that +Time might possibly happen, it occurred to me that life and interests might change, would my Ordinary Time love for cars vanish? Maybe I would be more holy or something.

At church Sunday a friend leaving town for a week handed me the key to a Porsche Carrera. Six speed that shifts creamy smooth once one reaquaints with stick and clutch. Not much fiction on my Kindle, Salman Rushdie, Abbott’s Flatland and Balzac, but Joe just read Earth Abides, late forties post-apocalyptic novel by George R. Stewart. Post-apocalyptic intrigued me so now it's on Kindle and reading. Reportedly, Stephen King called it his inspiration for The Stand. While Ish is camping in the mountains working on his biology thesis an epidemic disease wipes out humanity. Well into it now, biblical themes occur to me whether Stewart meant that or not. And Ish seems too close to Ich to be coincident but maybe not. Recommended.
