Abba, Father

Abba, Father, send your Sprit, glory, Jesus Christ
Abba, Father, send your Sprit, glory, Jesus Christ
Glory, hallelujah
Glory, hallelujah
Glory, hallelujah, glory, Jesus Christ.

Sorry for the late post this morning. Actually, this happens from time to time. Very early I started writing my blog post and wrote and thought along for a couple of hours, and as I got to the end of it, realized that it was not this morning’s blog post at all, but had become my sermon for Sunday, the Day of Pentecost. It’s based on Romans 8:14-17, which we aren’t even reading Sunday because I selected an optional Genesis reading instead, and the bulletins are already printed.

Oh well. Here’s the reading we aren’t reading. Maybe I'll read it anyway.

Romans 8:14-17 (NRSV)
14 ... all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

Anyone wanting to read this morning's blog post will have to come to church Sunday and hear it instead.
Peace!
