Examen

A very good Sunday. Sleeping eight hours until five o’clock in the morning. Examen. Quickly writing, posting an apologetic to follow Saturday’s rather brash +Time post. Breakfast of stuffed eggs, extra thin brown bread, black coffee. Celebrating at eight o’clock and hearing an excellent sermon. Finishing our look at Revelation in adult Sunday school, and Mike leading discussion of Reason. Spotting Christian & family getting out of their car and going out to take him from his dad and bring him in, he’s grown in the weeks since Easter Day when last I saw him. At ten-thirty, seeing the Johnson family, Lia and Joey: two more of my little-ones-grown up, can't anyone stay small for Father Tom? Having someone tell me as they left church, "I liked the sermon," and saying "I'm glad to hear that" even though I hadn't preached it. Taking sacrament to BayMed and HealthSouth after church. With Linda, an elegantly scrumptious Sunday dinner of lamb shank, black rice, carrots, thick brown gravy and glass of Zinfandel. Pushing the refrigerator back in place beside the new green kitchen cabinet that replaced the broken ice machine. Long nap, best Sunday afternoon nap is waking up to gaze out my open bedroom door at St. Andrews Bay sparkling under a clear blue sky. Finishing “Book One” of Evelyn Waugh’s Decline and Fall, a hilarious absurdity. Sunday late afternoon and evening on the downstairs front porch looking out at the Bay, going down to take a picture, that tiny white dot right in the middle across the Bay, that I thought was a USCG cutter, seems to be a small-ship-size private yacht, it's still there this morning

light supper on the porch - mug of lobster bisque and toast, coming inside late. Going online for Linda’s crossword puzzles, browsing the news, going up to bed.

May everyone’s Monday be as good as my very good Sunday.

Up early Monday. Right Shoe First and Praise the Lord.
