April Fool

April Fool?
Palm Sunday: Sunday of the Passion. Once upon a short time ago the focus of the day was Jesus’ riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, with the crowds throwing palm branches before him and shouting, “Hosanna.”
In the Church today that is the preamble to a somber reading of one of the Passion Gospels, today Mark. This because, and reasonably so, few people come to Good Friday services, and without the Sacrifice there is neither Salvation nor Easter eggs.
Early morning cup: San Francisco Bay coffee, “Fog Lifter.” No coffee gourmet, but it tastes good to me. Black with a shake of black pepper as a chief petty officer taught me aboard USS CORRY at sea 53 years ago.
Finding ensigns inevitable, most chiefs tolerated us kindly and helped us become fairly competent naval officers.
In the news. Don’t need yet one more fool blogger’s nose and typing fingers in the Israel Iran mutual obsession society. Iran likely has Iraq’s stockpile of WMDs and GWB/RB“D”C where are you when we don’t need you?
Floridian urge to comment on Trayvon/Zimmerman: sit on it. Sit, watch, wait and see. Stand-your-ground is for self-protection not for self-styled vigilantes to stalk then shoot when challenged. As any DF can see. But sit, watch, wait and see.
Casualty report from the war front. Raccoon trap is yielding one baby possum per day. Prisoner release in your yard.
Sunday school discussion will complement the Passion Gospel of Mark: Gospel of Peter and Gospel of Judas. Come see.
Comics. Tried Rudy Park, Get Fuzzy, Doonesbury, all three not comical this morning. So
Don’t like Oliphant? Calvin and Hobbes then.

See you in church and Sunday school and church.
