Sunshine Tree

The sunshine tree was all things bright and beautiful last evening as the setting sun centered into a tree beyond the stadium, relieving us westward-facing Away Team spectators of its light and heat. Surprisingly, the heat dropped instantly into a pleasant enough cool evening of high school football, which, especially with two granddaughters in the marching band, is more fun than college or pro.

Lincoln v Chiles, with Chiles offense and defense coming back the second half to score twice, turn it into A Football Game, and with 14 points severely threaten our lead. However, a safety and a field goal put Lincoln safely out of reach as the clock moved on.

Caroline was sitting far off on the left side of the band and I couldn't get a picture of her. Couldn't see Charlotte either until she moved down to stand right by us.

Without a rest, the Lincoln band is active the entire game. Sitting right next to them takes me back seventy years to years and games and memories as a drummer in the Bay High band. Life was Good, but at this stage it's Gooder at 84 than 14.
