Tuesday on Monday afternoon

+Time is still and always never a political blog, and whilst we are now miring deeply into our own rude, lying, obscene political savagery, there actually are important things happening elsewhere on the Earth, believe it or not.

Not important in a Universal or even Galactic sense,

but important in terms of how we treat each other on our magnificently beautiful speck here in one of the outer arms of our one Milky Way galaxy amongst untold trillions of other galaxies.

The Earth! What exceptional good fortune that we've evolved (pragmatic) and extraordinarily happy blessing that we've been created (faith) to have this seemingly unique place to live, love, enjoy, be fruitful and multiply, and have dominion. Yet, what a tragic return to Genesis:

"5:1 This is the account of the bringing forth of Earthling. In the day of the creating of Elohim Earthling, in the likeness of Elohim he made him. 2 Male and female he created them, and he blessed them, and he called their name Earthling, in the day they were created. ...

6:1 And it was that the Earthling began to be abundant upon the face of the earth, and daughters were brought forth to them. 2 And the sons of the ELOHIM saw the daughters of the Earthling - - that they were good; and they took to themselves women from all that they chose. 3 And YHVH said, "My spirit will not contend with the Earthling for an age, in that he also is flesh - - and his days are a hundred and twenty years". 4 The Nephilim were in the land in those days, and also, afterwards, when the sons of the ELOHIM came toward the daughters of the Earthling, and they brought forth for them - - these were the mighty ones that were from an age, men of the name.

5. And YHVH saw that the bad of the Earthling was abundant in the land, and every shaping of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the day. 6 And YHVH wa story that he had made the Earthling on the land, and it made distress toward his heart. 7 And YHVH said, "I will wipe out the Earthling that I have created from upon the face of the earth - - from Earthling, to animal, to moving thing, and to flyer of the skies; for I am sorry that I made them."

From James D Tabor, "The Book of Genesis," revealing a mix of E Writer and J Writer, and a bit of fanciful mythology, sons of Elohim marrying daughters of Earthling to bring forth a magically heroic Time of old for us to long for. Whatever the writer was thinking, it makes a great story, but here we are again, and if my theology were more smallishly local,

instead of what it has become,

perhaps l'd be prophesying the culmination of 2 Peter 3 and The Mystery of Faith, leading a faithful but terrified Sunday school class up to the roof of the Dixie Sherman Hotel to be the first lifted into the air for judgment and salvation. Doubtless, there'll be some surprises, just as there are in the cockpit of the airliner in "Left Behind" -> some of you won't be raptured with us.

What's my morning nonsense about this Time? It's about hatred and mutual hatred that short of a mass extinction event is as irresolvable as the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. The Canaanites do not do well in the conquest stories of the Book of Joshua; but Joshua did not finish, and to this day a presumptive and literalist New Israel and their Nakba are left with the remnant to deal with.

Seventy-six years on, it is meaningless to point out again that after the Holocaust, Germany should have been carved permanently to create a section completely depopulated of den deutschen Übermenschen and populate a Jewish Homeland heißt Israel, instead of the eternally despicable act of seizing property of Peoples who had been there already fighting over The Land for untold generations. But political and racial motivations then and now. Too late and never happen.

Instead, we have the Middle East, where the hatreds will grow until the sun explodes. One practical solution, discussed below, and quite clearly the view of the Israeli administration, and liars will deny it and fools will fail to see it, is spelled out (scroll down) in a news article from Haaretz. It would be a completion of the Nakba.

Isn't there somewhere, in one of the popular dystopian novels of the Time, that I read decades ago, the prediction that all this would ignite in the Middle East? I'm pretty sure so.

As a worldview, Dr Dostri's thesis is politically incorrect, but do you have a better solution other than calling truce and ceasefire and returning to the status quo before 7 October and turning Gaza over to some sort of internationally conceived joint Fatah Hamas administration? Regardless of pressure from the rest of the world, who naively want everyone to just be nice and go home, Israel will not be stupid enough to allow that to happen. And so here we are. By the Time I post this, Iran may well have set the Middle East ablaze.

Or - - the Haaretz article below Dr Dostri - - irredeemably hate-filled People dragging us into that mass extinction event. Alas, Babylon,

Calling to transfer Palestinians and settle Gaza: Meet Netanyahu's new spokesperson

Jonathan Lis

August 4, 2024

Dr. Omer Dostri holds a PhD in Political Science and the belief that 'Israel must order the rapid establishment of Israeli settlements in many of the areas it occupies' in Gaza. In his new role, he will be responsible for the communications division of the Prime Minister's Office

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed Dr. Omer Dostri as his new official spokesperson. Dostri has publically shared his support for the voluntary transfer of Gazans, Jewish settlement of the Gaza Strip, and opposition to a Palestinian state. He will be responsible for leading the communications division in the Prime Minister's Office.

Dostri, 37, has been a panelist on the right-wing Channel 14, and regularly shares his thoughts in articles and on social media. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Bar-Ilan University, and is a researcher at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security and a member of the "Habitchonistim" movement, which believes "Israel's security is key to its existence as the national homeland of the Jewish people," according to its website.

In his writings, Dostri has described the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state as a "disaster for Israel." Writing in January, Dostri said, "There is no victory over Hamas without three basic conditions: military occupation of the entire Gaza Strip, military and civilian control of the area, and encouragement of voluntary migration of Gazans out of the strip."

In December, he called for the Egyptian president to be promised "an economic and perhaps even security package" to agree to the transfer of "Gaza refugees to Sinai, even if only temporarily."

Further to these positions, Dostri wrote on his X account, and in an article published in Makor Rishon, that Israel should resettle the Gaza Strip. "As great and significant as the risk to the lives of IDF soldiers may be, it is no longer possible to avoid the need to decisively defeat Hamas and occupy the Gaza Strip," he wrote in the article.

"Israel must order the rapid establishment of Israeli settlements in many of the areas it occupies, especially those close to the current border." He explained that "more than killing terrorist operatives and senior leaders, more than destroying buildings and infrastructure, more than capturing prisoners - the extremist Islamic enemy will be struck down and fall to the ground whenIsraeli settlements are built on the ruins of its territory. This will be the true, significant, and most deterrent Israeli victory."

Netanyahu hasn't been this popular since October 7. He plans on taking full advantage

In November, he criticized the Israeli government's failure to manage Hamas. "Israel has completely failed in its political approach," Dostri wrote. "This misconception has been shared by all Israeli governments since 2007." According to him, "Israeli governments believed that it was possible to manage Hamas and reach understandings with it, even indirectly, for common interests such as stability and economic prosperity in the Gaza Strip."

Additionally, Dostri has said that the protest movement against the judicial overhaulis a "delusional, loud, and anarchistic minority that disrupts public order, violates freedom of movement, and acts as if they own the country," as well as holds Israeli citizens "hostage." He also accused Channel 13 and Channel 12 news of whitewashing "calls for refusal and anarchism."

In March, he criticized the American administration in an article on Ynet, claiming that it "threw Israel under the bus" after abstaining from a vote on a UN Security Council resolution for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza. Dostri argued that "as the war continued, the Biden administration changed its approach to a negative stance towards Israel." He clarified then that "Israel is not a banana republic managed by foreign elements."

Opinion | We all saw Israel's downfall coming, yet we're shocked

Roger Alpher

It's sad to be a liberal in Israel. It's sad to live here. This is a sad country. Frightening. Exhausting. Demanding. For 10 years, since the Gaza war of 2014, life in it has been a steady movement toward chaos, dissolution, anarchy, fascism. In the past 10 years, especially since the coronavirus lockdowns, life has become insufferable. The basic stability that characterizes a democratic regime has vanished. In its place is the chronic instability that characterizes a dictatorship.

Instability as policy. A doctrine of control. The heart of Bibi-ism, the political movement, which under Benjamin Netanyahu has changed the country. When liberals fought the judicial coup, the real coup had already happened. The temporary and unstable "government of change" turned out to be a link in the chain of a decade of Bibi-ist governments, which is now making its way to its new incarnation: Kahanism-fueled Spartanism.

The euphoria in the mainstream media and among the public in response to the record medals in the Paris Olympic Games expresses the Spartan spirit. The medal winners are presented as objects of national worship, and they're mobilized for the war effort. Expect more medal records in the next Olympic Games. Maybe in 2028 and 2032 the medals will be dedicated to the fallen and hostages.

It's no longer possible to live here. Life is unbearably hard. Depressing. Despairing. Nerve-wracking and meaningless. What's the point? Where's the horizon? What are we fighting for? What's the vision? Does anyone imagine the possibility that Netanyahu will go to prison or that the settlements will be dismantled?

We've already lost. We've already eulogized. Here's another eulogy. We're in shock. Tell the truth, our situation is shocking. We warned. We sounded the alarm. We saw it coming. Clear as daylight. From kilometers away. And yet, we're surprised. The destruction is happening around us, beneath our feet, on our heads. It's everywhere. We're paralyzed. There is no protest. It's impossible to plan a day ahead. We don't know what we're talking about, and we talk all the time.

We're living in an ongoing chain of speculations. Gritting our teeth and looking to heaven. May the Iron Dome not accidently intercept God. The public worships God, the medal winners, Netanyahu. Indeed, we're feeble.

Long before the Gaza war, Israelis have been living in denial as a strategy

For Israel, the war itself is the end, not the means

On Saturday evening, I received a golden nugget. Somebody's neighbor is the best friend of someone who's the spouse of someone who's the girlfriend of someone I know, and she said her sons are senior officers in the intelligence Unit 8200, and they said the army will launch a preventative strike against Iran on Saturday night. I woke up on Sunday morning and asked myself, What happened to the preventative strike? Maybe her sons aren't so senior. Maybe they are, but were wrong. Maybe they were right, and the preventative strike was planned, but called off at the last moment. Maybe this was a deception that caused the public to think there would be a preventative strike. And maybe she has no sons at all and merely imagined them to calm herself down. The regime tells us nothing.

At the supermarket checkout, where my money buys less and less, I was asked whether I want to donate to the security forces. I replied that I already donated. I paid taxes. A lot of taxes. They all laughed. There's no point. Life under Netanyahu is to be a speck of dust, valueless. Nausea of disgust. Nausea of anxiety. Netanyahu is blocking a hostage deal. Slowly but surely, they are turning into mythical creatures. Something that medals are dedicated to and who will return one day at the end of days and the end of wars. When there will be no need for elections. When Netanyahu the Messiah will gain immortality.

Should you eat muscadine skin?

You can swallow the pulp and seeds together OR you can work the seeds out of the pulp with your tongue, and spit them out before you swallow the pulp. For the greatest nutritional benefit, eat the skins and seeds as well as the pulp and juice.
